Day 12 - Dornoch to Inverness

We are must leave now and head for home. We have spent 12 days on this absorbing trip and didn't even scratch the surface. A brief stop in the lakes to meet up with family will provide a soft end to our holiday. We will return!

And so we have spent our last night on this wonderful journey - we have seen so much and enjoyed every minute. We will soon leave the Dornoch Castle hotel ready to head south again.

A shot from the beach of a shot from the Gorse. We were amazed at the number of of overseas golfers who came to play at Royal Dornoch - many were staying in the Royal Dornoch hotel and no doubt sampling the world famous whisky bar.

The wonderful sight of Gannets circling overhead before preparing to snatch an unsuspecting fish.

Wings tucked in they plummet into the water, catching good size fish and devouring them on the surface several meters away from the point of entry.

A lone shell on the sandy beach. Judging by all the activity there seems to be a lot of interest in the variety of washed up shells.
